I have been asked to write an essay on three newspaper reports. We have been analysing these articles for the last couple of weeks. In this essay I will be comparing the three 'Desperate Bosnians Risk Minefield deaths for US army Rations' by Maggie O' Keine, 'Five Die as Serb Shell Busy Bridge' by Jim Muir and I will be also looking at a graphic novel 'Safe Area Gorazde' illustrated by Joe Sacco. Jim Muir article came across to me as any other newspaper report; coherent headline, organised layout, straightforward. As this is taken from the Daily Telegraph I think it is aimed at the intellectual adult audience, this means that uses a wide range of vocabulary, and brings up long sophisticated names e.g. 'Mr Alija Izetbegovis' and to be honest I don't think anybody below this age would be quite as interested. To start with it draws the reader's attention...
