... 28 Days Later, Danny Boyle, 2002 The first shot of the scene is a plain black background, onto which the words "28 days later..." appear in white type. The words appear in the bottom right and are not in a fancy font. This signifies that nothing is sure as the words would be in the center of the screen if it was certain. The words slowly fade in and get larger, making sure we realise the importance of them. They then fade out, which creates a sense of mystery. There is no sound in this shot. There is a straight cut to the next shot. The next shot is of a man's face. It is a close-up shot, and part of his face is obscured by an off-white object. This object is out of focus, and as such we can't tell what it is. This adds to the mystery created in the last
