Advertisements Defined
Advertising describes the process of telling an audience about a product, service or opportunity you're offering. This part of the Media Studies course examines the Advertising industry, which is one of the creative industries.
Why Study Advertisements?
Advertising is creative in that advertising and branding agencies have to devise creative ideas to help organisations communicate with their target audience. If you're interested in products, brands and creative communication, you'll find this part of the Media Studies AS and A Level stimulating and interesting.
What Will I Study?
Your coursework might include writing essays and case studies on different companies' branding and awareness campaigns, and their marketing and promotional strategies. This could include Levi Strauss, Nike, film websites and TV adverts for cars.
Further Study After Advertisements
The projects and assignments you complete during the Advertising part of your Media Studies A Level will give you an insight into Advertising that will be valuable for taking a Degree in subjects including Marketing, Media Studies, Journalism, Graphic Design and other communications subjects.
