Maths Coursework Hypothesis I think that older pupils in Audenshaw School would be more accurate in guessing the area of cuboids than younger pupils. Sample I will take a sample of thirty-two children from year seven and a sample of thirty-two children from year eleven. There are four maths sets in each year, but as there are thirty children in a top set and only around ten in a bottom set, it would give the higher sets an advantage over the lower sets if I were to ask the whole set. Therefore, I would ask eight random people from each set, 1st set, 2nd set, 3rd set and bottom set, to maintain a fair cross-section of the year group.
