Analysis of Standard Deviation The Standard Deviation calculation proves my original hypothesis that on average boys have a higher IQ than girls. As the population is 1183 I think with the size of my sample I can be relatively sure that the rest of the population follow the same trend. I also predicted that the boys Standard Deviation would be lower meaning that their data is less spread. Therefore all the boys' IQs are closer together. For Standard Deviation one standard deviation is meant to contain 68% of the sample and 2 Standard Deviations is meant to contain 95% of the sample. I am going to see how close my data is to these figures. I shall first work out the boys Number of Boys in sample with IQ below 95 = 9 Number of Boys in sample with IQ above 109 = 16 9+7= 16 50-16=34 34/50 X 100 = 68% The first Standard Deviation...
