Recent Reviews of Core & Pure Mathematics Essays
What our users think of the Core & Pure Mathematics essays in this section:
"The apposite use of graphs to supplement the cogent and clear text of the article places this work in an unassailable high category. My memory goes back to a book on "conic sections" (dated in the 1850's) that I purchased when a schoolboy in circa 1938....it had but TWO very poorly drawn figures and to make sense of it one had to figure a vast plenitude of angles, lines and areas all delineated in the text by never-ending capital letters of the alphabet.!!!"

"Good as far as it goes, but the work doesn't give a clear explanation of what exactly it's trying to achieve. However, all the points made are clearly expressed and an attempt is made to generalise trends that are identified, and illustration of the work by graphs (not attached to the upload, but I can infer what they would show from references in the text) helps the clarity of explanation. The work does miss some obvious ways in which it could be expanded upon, such as investigation of the general formula to find roots of a quadratic equations.
