... Transformation of Quadratic Functions In this portfolio, my task is to investigate, describe, and predict the effects of the changes in the parameters A, B and C on the graph of, y = (x- A)2 , y=x2 ? B where B>0 and y=Cx2 as compared to the graph of the parent function y = x2. It includes in the verbal description the images of (0,0) and (1,1) under the transformation. For each example, I will graph the parent function and the transformed function on the same grid. Note: The lighter lined graph is the graph of y = x2. The darker graph is the transformed graph. What does the graph show about the effect of A on the shape and orientation of the graph of y = (x - A)2 ? Parent Graph: y = x2 Compare to: y = (x-3)2 Compared to y = (x+2)2 Compared to y = (x-10)2 Compared to y =
