In what way can the idea of rights for young people be seen as consistent with a concern for their welfare? Introduction The welfare of young people is a crucial element in society and is influenced by the people that look after them. As adults who work and associate with young people we can help them obtain their welfare entitlements. With the concern for young people's welfare there should also be a concern for the rights that young people have. I will in this essay try to illustrate how young people's autonomous rights are integrated with societies concern for their welfare. Welfare To provide for ones welfare would include some of the following tasks: 1. Looking after them. 2. Making sure they are safe. 3. Meeting their physical needs. 4. Supporting them. 5. Nurturing and caring for them. 6. Teaching them good behaviour and discipline. The type of people that would offer the welfare needed depends on the type of welfare...
