Introduction In this assignment I will discuss some of the acts that promote equal opportunities, these include: Race Relations Act Sex Discrimination Act Children's Act I will also include some work place scenarios that I experienced whilst on my work placement that relate to these acts. I will also include some psychological and sociological factors including; discrimination and how it can be carried out, prejudice and stereotyping. Also included in this assignment is rights and choices for both staff and clients, patient advocacy and confidentiality. Equality Here is the definition I found for equality:. "Having identical rights or status". Collins Dictionary, third edition, (2003). I think equality is also about people having equal opportunities, the same rights under the law and the rights to services provided by the government on the basis of their needs. As an Operating Department Practitioner I should treat everybody equally and be an advocate for the patient regardless of their situation or status. Diversity Here...
