When the film started, it only had a black empty screen with characters names (credits). The sound in the background sounded like a war, with gun shots, bombing, people screaming, shouting etc, which made this film a sinister type. Derek Bentley was born on the 30th of June 1033, and was hanged 19 years later. He grew up in the East End of London, and survived when bricks fell down onto him during the Blitz bombings. The resultant blow caused epilepsy and brain damage, sufficient to give him a mental age well below his physical one. He suffered further blows to his head during his short life, and was to suffer fits throughout. Christopher Craig was born in 1936.
