Have a little read: ... The learning system in most American schools is based on an environment structured to encourage the students to become actively involved in the learning process. The teaching methods and curriculum are more flexible. However, for those in Hong Kong, the mainstream education system has often been described as a "Peking Duck style education" The difference of the two systems could be explained by the different objectives of the schools. In America, the teacher would like the students to be self-motivated and competent with sense of responsibility. They encourage the development of learning skills through practical experience, their method of teaching helps the students to be expressive. Therefore they focus more on presentations rather than on rigid timetables, brainstorming is more important than requiring students to listen to instructions. The students are given more time on discussions and physical activities. Conversation is necessary to their type of learning. In Hong Kong, students
