What can ICT be used for in industry? ICT are key to Europe's manufacturing ability, competitiveness and jobs. Although the overall impact of ICT may vary, depending on the use, significant opportunities to improving business agility, flexibility, and productivity in manufacturing and enhancement to product quality can be expected from ICT. ICT is used in many different ways in manufacturing and industry, from initial design to control and ordering. * It can be used in administration - e.g. payroll systems, clocking on and clocking off, communications, word processing, etc. * It can be used to order and keep track of raw materials needed in the production process. * It can also be used to create designs and models, and to test and manufacture them.
