Anti Communist Speech.

Have a little read: ... Anti Communist Speech Americans, There is a serious menace in our society today, I am of course referring to Communism, which is now plaguing the entire world. Unless we learn what a curse Communism really is and take action against its open threats and its subversive activities or we shall lose our choice of politics, our choice of religion and our freedom of speech. I find it impossible even to imagine how Americans would live if they were suddenly deprived of such freedoms. We discovered not too late, that a former ally was at all times plotting against us alongside other nations even while we were helping to save its very existence. From the time the aims and purposes of the Communists were more clearly revealed, we began the preparation and mobilization of our nation and of other friendly peoples. I have served in two World Wars. I know that War is hell. Now we are threatened with a third World War - a war more devastating than any before dreamed of, by a foe - Communism - more cruel and fiendish than we have ever faced. I do not refer to the Russian people who have always been friends of America or to the Poles or Chechs or Chinese who have been temporarily enslaved by the Communists. We must prepare against the type of foe that has no morals, that would do anything to win- not to meet it with the same foul tactics, for Americans can never stoop down to that level. We must prepare to beat them in the American way - above the belt, with greater power, and as free men. We cannot win and survive by mere wishful thinking or by dreaming. We must prepare fully. We must mobilize with adequate might. We must determine to win. We must dedicate ourselves until the menace of Communism is eradicated. There can be no recess from the task ahead. Every stoppage is a betrayal of our fighting men and a benefit only to Stalin and his co-conspirators. In the political campaign immediately ahead of us, let us not forget that whether our president is Truman or his successor, a Republican or a Democrat, whether Congress be Democratic or Republican, one thing is certain, Communism will still be the foe of the American people. Let us hope and pray that the dominated and enslaved Russians, Poles, Chechs, Chinese, and others will overthrow their Communist masters and gain
