What were the causes and consequences of the 1905 revolution? The 1905 Revolution was fundamentally instigated by a number of things including Russia's failure within the Russo- Japanese war, and the poor working conditions, workers found them selves in due to the slow pace of reform in Russian society Therefore, the Tsar's regime and his title as being 'the Little Father' wavering as the period of events occurred. The initial start of the Revolution began due to 'Bloody Sunday', occurring on the 22nd of January 1905. A peaceful march led by Father Gapon1 proved fatal for the Tsar's respect and authority. The main aim of the march was to deliver a petition to the Tsar, urging him to improve workers' conditions and to hold democratic elections to establish a constituent assembly.
