... Did King Richad III Lose His throne Or Did Henry Tudor Win It? This question has been the focus of debate for many historians when considering and examining the causes for the exchange of the throne in 1485. It has been made harder for modern historians to derive an accurate answer to this question due to Tudor propagandists, such as Moor, Hall and Shakespeare, who suggest that Richard was an evil tyrant and his downfall was inevitable. It was at the battle of Bosworth (August 1485) that King Richard III was killed and his throne passed on to Henry Tudor. However, was this due to Henry Tudor's expertise in strategy and battle that allowed him to win the throne or was it the result of Richard III making poor decisions causing him to lose the throne?
