Unit 1: Positive Relationships for Children's Care, Learning and Development P1: There are many ways that you can develop relationships with children. While I have been at my placement I have seen many ways, by simple getting down to the child's level, having a smile and a happy atmosphere. Relationships need to be built between pupil and teacher/TA and between themselves. At the beginning of new school year the teacher gets information about all the children, this is called a pre-report. The teacher will have information on the children's friends, there likes/dislikes, pets, family (brothers and sister), and allergies. At the school I am in this is how they have been developing the relationships: 1. Registration time. At registration time the teacher calls out the name of each child and the pupil will answer.
