Treatments for agoraphobia A phobia is a persistent fear of an object, situation or activity that a person feels they have to avoid, it causes them anxiety and panic attacks and some people take extreme measures to avoid the object, situation or activity, which can have a major effect on there life and day to day living, for example agoraphobia, if a person is scared of open spaces then how are they going to go to work or get there shopping it would have a dramatic affect on the individuals life.
