The way health is described largely depends on the individual's views and perspectives. The term health was deviated from and old English term Heal which means whole. This therefore implies that health involves every aspect of an individual's life. This includes their physical, social, emotional, mental, societal, and spiritual health. Nevertheless, most people today define health in a negative view as the feel it is the absence of illness or disease. A more reliable way to define health was described by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1984 as: 'the extent to which an individual or group is able on the one hand, to realise aspirations and satisfy needs and on the other hand, to change or cope with the environment.
