When using communication we need to make sure that we are putting across to the person is understood by them. This is called effective communication, effective commutation is when you listen, question, understand and respond. You have to communicate in one on one discussions and be able to observe things that people are doing and to focus on the persons you are talking to. There are a wide number of sources of noise or interference that can enter into the communication process. This can occur when people know each other very well and should understand the sources of error. In a work setting, it is even more common since interactions involve people who not only don't have years of experience with each other, but communication is complicated by the complex and often conflict relationships that exist at work.
