The patients in Bangladesh who are prescribed Erythropoietin (EPO) to treat anaemia due to Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) often stop taking the therapy because they do not understand the importance of taking the therapy & the possible consequences of non-compliance. Again, the number of Nephrologists in Bangladesh is so low that they do not have the time to counsel the patients regarding EPO therapy. To ensure medicinal compliance and to assist the Nephrologists, a patient counselling service needed to be established with funding from Roche Bangladesh Limited.
