Nobody will deny that the NHS is in dire need of both financial reinvestment and serious restructuring, this we must all agree upon!! Although in what way do we reshape the NHS? Is it through a revamp of the existing system, or through the introduction of a new system i.e. privatisation? I think that the answer lies in a compromise between the two giving us the benefits of both worlds. Theoretically privatisation should work, after all in many walks of the life the private sector tend to come across as being more efficient than the public sector. Theoretically a company driven by profit will maximise efficiency and thus get the best value / performance for money. Unfortunately as we so often find, this is not always the case i.e. the railways!! People get greedy, they will squeeze and squeeze until they get every last penny and then move on to...
