What psychologists have learned about the use and mis-use of the health services can be evaluated in terms of validity/reliability. For a study to be valid different researchers should find the same if not similar results. This is not always the case; different psychologists interpret things in a different way. The study I discussed above in section A by Robinson and Granfield (1986) is essentially negative and implies mis-use of the health service, different results were found by Anderson et al (1995) who profiled frequent attendees at primary health care clinics in Sweden. Results showed that they were more likely to be female aged 25-64, and that this was largely due to the burdens of wage earnings and family care, i.e. the Dual burden, the women have to perform two tasks, a large number were also divorced...
