Legislations are like laws, put in place to promote, support and uphold the principles and practice of equality and diversity within society. An example of legislation put in place to promote, support and uphold the principles and practice of equality and diversity in a health and social care setting could be the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and 1986. This legislation states that under its influence it is illegal to discriminate against a person on the grounds of employment, access to goods and services, Education and Other areas of life by treating one gender less favourably.
