... Geography Fieldwork Write up Aim To investigate the vegetation on moor land, the differences in its location, its conservation and management. Hypothesis 1. Vegetation type and density will vary with distance from the footpath. 2. Managed burning will have an effect on the landscape and on heather green growth production. 3. Different areas of heather will have different percentage of green growth upon them. 4. Managed burning of heather will have an effect on the effect of accidental firing. Predictions 1. Vegetation will be denser further away from the footpath. 2. More top growing plants and fewer base growing plants will be found the further away from the footpath the sample is taken. 3. Younger heather will have a higher % of green growth. 4. Managed burning of heather will counteract the detrimental effect of accidental firing. Method A cross section of path and surrounding moorland will be surveyed with data collected at regular intervals. Data will be collected on soil
