Have a little read: ... The relationship between the history of the Water-House and Walthamstow During the eighteenth century Walthamstow was quite a rural area, it was the suburb of London. There were about 30 or more large houses, most of them were wealthy private homes. Both the Water-House, and Walthamstow have changed since the eighteenth century, mostly which are about the same things. The Water-House was a private house, it was for renting out and had quite a large garden. It was lived in by a number of different people and owned by a number of people. But now it is a large public house, the Water-House is opened to the public as a William Morris Gallery, and the garden is now a public park.
