Human Geography: A Definition
Human Geography is about the interaction of humans with the natural environment. This includes looking at the environmental impact of human activity such as tourism, urban and rural development, and transfers of products around the world.
Why Study Human Geography?
The Human Geography component of the Geography A Level aims to give students an understanding of the interaction between people, cultures, economies and the environment. Human Geography is taught in the context of the sustainability challenges humans face in the 21st century.
Human Geography: What Will I Study?
You'll write essays and coursework on topics including urban and rural change management, human energy use, and the impact on the environment of the development of tourism. Your projects and assignments will also look at international trade patterns, globalisation and migration of people.
