... East is East Coursework Introduction Pakistan is in Southern Asia, and it's a Muslim nation. In Pakistan 97% of the people practice Islam, which is the Muslim religion. Pakistan is mainly an independent region because of its religion. When India was given its independence in 1047, the country was divided according to the people's religions. Pakistan was created out of the northwestern and northeastern India. The majority of people in both areas were Muslims and the remaining people were Hindus. Because of the country being divided into two, huge amounts of people had to cross from one country to the other. Millions of Muslims fled India in 1947 to settle in the newly created nation of Pakistan. Pakistan was carved out of regions of India that had a Muslim majority.
