13th June 1913 SUFFRAGETTE KILLED BY HORSE ONE WEk AGO, BUT WAS IT SUICIDE? Over one week ago, suffragette Emily Davison, was thrown in front of the Kings horse, to her death. The question that was raised from this was, was it a publicity stunt that went wrong, or was it suicide? Emily Davison was an experience campaigner. It has been reported that she had been arrested nine times because she had, set fire to post boxes and offices and, had been on hunger strike while in prison. On that tragic day, June 5th 1913, Anmer the Kings horse, ran towards where Emily was standing. Mr John Ervine was stood close to Emily Davison before she ran onto the racetrack. He recalls; "The horse ran towards her and she held up her hand. I'm not sure whether it was to protect her self or to catch the reins....
