Poetry Essay "Compare two poems that show what the soldiers lives were really like at war". "Recruiting" and "The Bohemians" both show what the soldiers lives were really like out at war. A question that I must I ask is how do the poets put the 'realistic' view and image of war across in the poems. "The Bohemians" suggests that the poem is about rebelling against the rules of society; this is because of the definition of a Bohemian. "The Bohemians" is about a group of soldiers who rebel towards the fashions of war and the war in general. A good example of the fashions of war is "Certain people would not clean their buttons". This gives the impression in the first line that the Bohemians would seem to always go against society's way of life to be different and that they would do what they feel like, for example not cleaning their...
