Analyse two of Wilfred Owens's poems. Discuss how Owen conveys the pity and horror of war in these two poems, comment on the language used and the impact it has have upon you, the reader. The two poems I have decided to discuss and analyse are "Dulce Et Decorum Est" and "Conscious". These poems were written by Wilfred Owen as a result of the First World War (The Great War). I will now analyse both poems one by one and show how they make me, the reader feel pity for the soldiers involved in the Great War. The subject of "Dulce Et Decorum Est" is a gas attack on the soldiers. The poem shows the devastating effects of poisonous gas on the soldiers.
