How family life was affected during the First World War In Worthing lots of families were affected, many broken up because of the devastation of WW1. Many wives were missing husbands, many children missing fathers and many parents missing sons, I will show you what happened to these people who did lose relatives. In the war it was relatively common for brothers, friends and small groups of men to enlist together resulting in a dreadful loss of all family and friend members. This is a memorial plague to S. G MITCHELL In Memory of SAMUEL GEORGE MITCHELL Corporal 6407518 9th Bn., Royal Sussex Regiment who died on Thursday, 9th November 1944. Age 31. Samuel was the son of Son of Stephen James Mitchell and Florence Alice Mitchell, of Brighton, Sussex; husband of Freda Mabel Mitchell, of Brighton.
