When studying the literature of the First World War, the works of female writers, poets and artists are frequently overlooked and underrated in a field dominated by males. Fortunately, Catherine Reilly's celebrated collection of women's First World War poetry 'Scars Upon my Heart' is recognised as a worthy contribution to the vast canon of war literature.
