Chose two poems which may help to give an idea of the course of nature in the world and the effects it has on the living and the generations which are to follow. As the teams Head brass is a dialogue poem written by Edward Thomas exploring the impact of the war on the home front. The poem has been written in a prose sense of narrative style. The poem is set in a peaceful and tranquil rural area and uses imagery to represent the changes that take place from those who have sacrificed themselves and gone to war. This is shown by the "fallen elm" which can be interpreted in two different ways. The word "fallen" itself was a euphemism used to describe the soldiers which were dead, and the "Elm" tree shows significance as it is the only tree that is prone to disease as are the soldiers prone...
