Through reading many different aspects of war literature I noticed many similarities and differences, therefore I have chosen to analyse the novel "Regeneration" by Pat Barker and compare it to poems I discovered in the collection "Never Such Innocence." I think the novel "Regeneration" shows quite a clear representation of war, mainly through its use of real veterans such as "Siegfried Sassoon," "Owen" and also the character of "Dr Rivers." One of the main parallels between the novel and the collection poetry is the link of the character Siegfried Sassoon. Siegfried Sassoon I feel is portrayed as himself in the novel "Regeneration" not only has his true name been used, also similar aspects of his life have been used through the novel.
