The author's intention in this extract is also to present this mysterious situation and the personality of the object of the speaker's affection. Finally, Gupta cogently discusses about the game of scrabble to analyze both individuals' personalities. The rapid alteration of tone throughout the extract depicts the narrator's unstable emotions with the use of limited first person narration.
