Part 1 - Art History In no more than 300 words, write a descriptive analysis of this painting. Pay particular attention to the positioning of the figure and to features such as lighting, colour and brushwork, and say how you think these contribute to effect of the work. Picasso's painting 'Girl in a Chemise' shows - as the title suggests a girl dressed in a chemise. The chemise itself looks as though it could be made from satin or silk. Picasso has produced this effect by using bright white brush strokes on the body of the chemise, compared to the rest of the painting where he has used dull colours. Although the chemise is quite high necked it does not hide the girl's body but rather accentuates it, especially around the bosom area.
