It can be assumed that the poet is talking about herself since it is written in the first person. The poem seems to be a melancholically thoughtful approach to travelling and moving on in life, both physically and mentally. This follows on to a much deeper questioning of where she is from and finally who she actually is. In the first stanza it is clear to see several connections between certain words using assonance, rhyme and half-rhyme. E.g., "fields" in line 2 connects with "wheels" in line 3, "Home, Home" of lines 4 and 5 relate to "rooms" of line 6, and finally, "more" of line 7 and "paw" in line 8. The rhyming slowing fades away, possibly symbolising the loss of familiarity and the fear of
