Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? In this essay based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet I will discuss how many of the characters played a part in causing Romeo and Juliet's deaths. I will look closely at friar Lawrence, Lord and Lady Capulet, the Nurse, Tibalt, the Prince and the part played by Fate. In my mind some characters are more to blame than others and that some share equal blame for this tragedy. In my mind I believe fate is most to blame for Romeo and Juliet's deaths, as if Romeo had received the letter-explaining friar Lawrence's and Juliet's plan he would have known of the plan to fake Juliet's own death. As if only Juliet had taken the sleeping draft provided by friar Lawrence a bit earlier than she did she would have woken up sooner, probably before Romeo killed himself as he thought she...
