The different attitudes to love There are many different views of love in this play and many different views on why you should marry someone. The two main characters in the play are Romeo and Juliet, these two fell in love at first glance, so love at first sight. This interpretation of love is where both people feel the same and it's not just based on looks, it's based on who that person is. Romeo and Juliet are the only examples of this in the play at the time it was set, there were a lot of arranged marriages so the people didn't necessarily love each other, they were just told to marry people.
