In this essay I will compare and analyse the film language employed by the directors Baz Luhrmann and Franco Zeffireli in the openings of the film versions of "Romeo and Juliet." The play Romeo and Juliet is about two families who have been fighting for years. When Romeo falls in love with Juliet, the are many consequences including the death of a family member and friend. A story of love, revenge and death, revolving around a pair of star-crossed lovers, interpreted differently, but presented in the same form. Romeo and Juliet Two films, both alike in content, set in fair Verona, where the directors laid out their scene, one created by Franco Zeffireli in 1968 and the other by Baz Luhbrmann in 1996. The version of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Franco Zeffireli, stays true to most of the original Shakespeare on which the film is based....
