Georgina Elliott 11.4 Romeo & Juliet Coursework Task: Consider the language used by the lovers in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet up to the end of Act 3. Comment on what you find interesting in the language and comment on any changes observed. In my essay I am going to be looking at the language used by both Romeo and Juliet in the first three acts and how Romeo falls for Juliet whilst still unsure about his feelings towards Rosaline. In Act 1,Scene 1 Romeo shares his feelings towards Rosaline with Benvolio. Romeo tells Benvolio how he is confused and unsure about his 'love' for Rosaline. In this scene Romeo uses an oxymoron by saying that he hates loving Rosaline. It is clear from Romeos language that he does not love her he is just lusting after her. Also, Romeo speaks very strangely about Rosaline and the language he uses...
