Analyse the views of love expressed in "Romeo and Juliet" In the play Romeo and Juliet there are many types of love shown such as romantic love, unrequited love, unconditional love, family love, self love, true love and filial love. In the time when Shakespeare was writing marriage for love was not a common thing, as most marriages were arranged by the parents to keep the family's wealth and status. The most significant form of love shown in the play is between Romeo and Juliet and that increase more and more through out the play. Family love is one of the most influential types of love shown in the play "Romeo and Juliet" There is parental love between Lord Capulet and his daughter Juliet as he cares for her and tries to cheer her up when her cousin Tybalt is killed by marring her with Paris.
