An exploration of the way Shakespeare portrait Juliet's character and actions through the use of his language In this essay I shall be exploring how Shakespeare portraits the character of Juliet and how he shows her developing from an immature teenager into a mature young lady. Romeo and Juliet is Shakespeare's most popular play. It is the most retold and reiterated since it deals with everyday aspects of life such as love, tragedy, and in particular, family. Even though she is only around the age of fourteen Shakespeare still portraits her as act as if she was an infant or act years beyond her actual age At the beginning of this epic and heart wrenching tragedy she seems to be a obedient, sheltered, naïve child.
