In Baz Luhrmanns's "Romeo and Juliet", how does he create an appropriate atmosphere and ensure the plot is accessible to a modern audience? "Romeo & Juliet", was written in 1599 by William Shakespeare. This was one of his most famous plays, and has been performed thousands of times. It is an Elizabethan tragedy based around 2 lovers, "Romeo & Juliet". I am analysing the first two minutes of a modern remake, directed by "Baz Luhrmann" in 1997.
