When the two friends first catch sight of the three old witches, they are returning from the battle. They inform Banquo that he will not become a king himself but he will have many "Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none", Banquo willingly accepts the natural order and is happy with his position in it. He has no intention of trying to change it to benefit himself and stays loyal, thus upholding the natural order. They also tell Macbeth that he is Thane of Glamis, then that he will be pronounced Thane of Cawdor and then become king "All hail Macbeth, hail to thee, Thane of Glamis!
