MACBETH "Macbeth" Was written by William Shakespeare. The play is about a man called Macbeth who is a soldier. Macbeth and his friend Banquo were coming from a battle which was between Scotland and Norway, Macbeth and his army had won the battle. On their way They met three witches who predicted Macbeth's future, telling him that he will be the Thane of Cawdor and king of Scotland. In the same way they tell Banquo that his son will be king. Shakespeare Creates an atmosphere of evil in this 1st scene, both through the setting and the references to devils in the animal shapes. The way he does this is by changing a calm day to wet and thundary. "Thunder and lightning. Enter three witches" They also mention the devils: Greymalkin and Paddock.
