MACBETH: TRAGIC HERO Shakespeare has written many tragic plays such as Hamlet Romeo & Juliet plus many more. The basics of a tragedy are about a male or female wanting something and willing to do anything for it but when everything seems to be going right. Everything seems to reach its highest point then everything goes downhill. Shakespeare's most famous tragedy is Romeo and Juliet. This play was written in the 1600's for James the 6th of Scotland or James the 1st of England. The play was based on a true story about a man who would do anything for what he wanted to achieve.
