Macbeth is a good man who due to ambition and power becomes corrupt. He first starts on his trip to corruption when he meets three witches. Historical note king James was fascinated with the supernatural this is why Shakespeare put in witches ghosts and tricks of the mind. Even at right at the beginning they seem to know who Macbeth is and where and when they shall meet him.
