How I would like the audience to respond to the roles of Helena and Hermia Helena and Hermia are the two main female roles of the play, they are contrasting characters and I would like them to appear to the audience as equally beautiful but very different. In the script there is a line where Lysander compares the two characters 'rave for a dove?' Describing Helena as a dove and Hermia as a raven this could be taken litrally in their physical appearance Hermia been dark haired and Helena been fair haired I would show this on stage by having Helena blonde and Hermia brunette. I would have Helena be a very pathetic character, dramatic, depressed and loving. She is a very insecure character, she is also devoted to Demetrius whos she loves depite him telling her he does not love her, 'I cannot love you?' She then dehumanizes her self, ' I...
