Production of 'The Crucible' for a group of trainee judges An American man called Arthur Miller wrote 'The Crucible'. It is about the story of the 1962 Witch Hunts in Salem. The play focuses on twenty innocence people being hanged due too paranoia, which were let down by the justice of the law. The play was banned in America because it was published during the Cold War when there was a lot of fear of communism. So the story was an allergy. There were 'witch-hunt's' for people associated with communism, which turned into innocence people being used as 'scape-goats' like in the play with Francis Nurse. In 'The Crucible' there are severally themes that come up more than once during Act 1. These are guilt, relationships, roles of women, personal integrity, Good verses Evil and Fear. All of these themes caused anxiety, caution and tension in Salem that eventually...
